# GetSlotLeader

## getSlotLeader RPC Method

Returns the current slot leader.

    `object` **optional**\
    Configuration object containing the following fields:

    **commitment** `string` **optional**\
    The level of commitment desired when querying state

    **minContextSlot** `number` **optional**\
    The minimum slot that the request can be evaluated at

#### Result Details

* `<string>` - Node identity Pubkey
  * Represents the current slot leader
  * Encoded as a base-58 string
  * Identifies the validator node currently responsible for producing blocks
