Proving Mechanism

Initially, SOON employs an Optimistic Rollup (OP) Fault Proof mechanism to ensure the security and correctness of transactions. This interactive verification approach helps safeguard user assets by detecting and responding to fraudulent activities. Fault proofs play a crucial role in maintaining trust in the network, ensuring that invalid transactions are detected and reverted. For reference, the current OP Fault Proof mechanism can be examined in Optimism’s MIPS-related opcodes: Optimism MIPS.

OP Interactive Fault Proofs

The OP Fault Proof mechanism involves a multi-step process where parties can challenge suspicious transactions. If a transaction is challenged, an interactive game is played to prove or disprove the validity of the transaction. This ensures that only valid transactions are finalized, maintaining the integrity of the blockchain.

Moving Forward with Enhanced Security

Moving towards zk-proofs will provide SOON with enhanced security. ZK proofs allow transactions to be verified without revealing the underlying data, ensuring transaction validity while not necessarily adding privacy enhancements. This shift will position SOON at the forefront of blockchain security technologies, enabling it to support applications with stringent security requirements.
